Blog Entry 2
hi everyone! i'm here to update yall about what my group has learnt, as well as what we've done for our SCAMPER process, as well as our COWS decision matrix!
before our lesson on both SCAMPER, I was really confused on what it was supposed to stand for, but now i understand that the letters stand for
S - SUBSTITUTE
C - COMBINE
A - ADAPT
M - MODIFY
P - PUT TO ANOTHER USE
E - ELIMINATE
R - REVERSE
in terms of my group's SCAMPER process, we decided to focus mainly on the chemicals and materials that made up both the actual substance within the deodorant or the can.
I find the process of using SCAMPER useful as it makes me think about how we should try and improve our initial product based on the 7 letters, which also allows me to think about brand new ideas for our product.
During the idea screening process, we also used the feasibility table to see if our ideas could be realistically produced. The table also allows us to quickly decide which ideas that we came up with during the SCAMPER process should be discontinued as they would either be too expensive, too unsafe or just straight up illegal. Here are our final ideas that we decided on using the feasibility tables!
